Jen Armstrong, APR is owner and principal of Kaia Consulting and has over 15 years of experience in public relations. She consults clients on a variety of communication needs in the state of Hawaii. Jen’s experience includes journalism, public relations, marketing, community relations and social media communications. She brings a fresh perspective and insight to the field of public relations. Her commitment to client services coupled with her passion for the work is the foundation of Kaia Consulting.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, Jen attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts with an emphasis in Journalism and minored in Creative Writing. Upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, California to launch her career. While there, she interned for two of L.A.’s top celebrity publicists. This is where her love for public relations was born.
Jen eventually moved back to Honolulu and decided to pursue a higher educational degree. She then enrolled in Hawaii Pacific University in its graduate program for Communication. After graduating with her Master of Arts in Communication, Jen has had the privilege of working alongside many professionals in the field and was fortunate to execute groundbreaking projects. In 2012, Jen started her own consulting company so she could successfully balance her work/home life.

An active member of the community, Jen has volunteered for various organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and Aloha United Way. On top of being a PR consultant, Jen devotes her free time as President of the board for Family Promise of Hawaii and is also current President for the Public Relations Society of America Hawaii Chapter.
Jen is the 2015 Young Marketer of the Year for the American Marketing Association Hawaii Chapter and was named as one of Pacific Business News’ Forty Under 40 of 2016. Jen recently achieved the prestigious Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) distinction in April 2017.
